Network Requests for Buyers

Learn how to expand your reach and find new suppliers with Network Requests.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Introduction

Network Requests allow you to share your material needs directly with your links (via private requests) or with the entire Matium Network (via public requests). Once you share a request, you'll receive relevant material offers from suppliers in response, and can negotiate and confirm offers that best meet your material specifications, target price point and desired location and delivery terms.

Sharing Public Requests

To share a public request with the entire Matium Network, contact our Market Support Team at [email protected] and someone will reach out shortly to discuss your needs. Note that all buyers will need to complete a credit application before posting a public request to facilitate payments between yourself and the suppliers.

Sharing Private Requests

Note: You must be subscribed to Matium Core to share private requests with your links. To update your subscription status, Administrators can visit the Billing area under Administration in the left sidebar.

Visit Network Requests in the left sidebar and click New Private Request in the top right corner to share a private request with your links. All requests are associated with a Core Need describing the material parameters, location of the need, etc. You will be prompted to select an existing Core Need or create a new one, provide a title and description for the request, upload any documents you want to share about the request, and then select the links to send the request to.

Receiving and Confirming Offers

Once suppliers receive your request, they will be able to respond with material offers that meet your specific needs. When viewing the details of a material offer, you will be able to see which request it was sent in response to, along with all material specifications, asking price, shipping terms, etc.

You will be able to counter, accept or decline any offer. The supplier is also able to counter or cancel an offer.

If you decide to accept an offer, you may ask the supplier to send samples of their material first. Note that transactions are not considered final until accepted by the buyer and then confirmed by the supplier. Once confirmed, all contact information for both buyer and supplier will be shared with the other party.
