Tips for Listing Supply on Matium

Follow these best practices to make your listings stand out on Matium.

Updated this week

Follow these best practices to make your listings stand out on Matium. Strong listings attract serious buyers faster and the more accurate and transparent your information, the smoother your sales process will be.

1. Include Clear, High-Quality Images

Buyers want to see what they’re getting. Upload clear photos of your material that accurately represent its color, grade, and form.

2. Upload a Technical Data Sheet

If you have a Technical Data Sheet (TDS), make sure to include it with your listing. This provides buyers with essential details about your material’s composition, performance, and specifications, which builds trust and helps buyers verify quality before reaching out.

3. Add as Many Specifications as Possible

The more detail, the better. Include relevant specs such as:

  • Grade, form and color.

  • Typical properties such as melt index and density.

  • Additional properties such as additives and fillers.

Comprehensive listings appear in more searches and attract serious buyers.

Pro Tip: Don't just list your specs in the description. When creating inventory to list as supply, add all relevant specs to the material and expand Typical Properties and Additional Properties to see all available options. This will ensure our matchmaking system is suggesting your material to the right buyers.

4. Include the Source if Recycled

If your material is recycled, be transparent about its origin. Examples include:

  • Post consumer PET bottles

  • Post industrial pipe regrind

  • Agricultural film recovery

Buyers often look for sustainability information - listing your source makes your material more appealing.

5. Set a Realistic Price or Leave It Blank

You can enter a price that you’d actually be willing to sell for, or simply leave it blank if you’re open to all offers.

Avoid setting an artificially low price just to get attention. It can lead to unqualified leads and unnecessary back-and-forth.

6. Include Key Details Buyers Need

Help buyers make quick, informed decisions by adding to your description:

  • Required pickup or delivery dates

  • Whether the supply is spot (one-time) or ongoing

  • Any logistical details (e.g., “on pallets,” “stored indoors”)

  • Minimum order quantities

These details save time and ensure you’re matched with the right buyers.

7. Review Before Publishing

Before you post, double-check that your listing:

  • Has all relevant specs filled out

  • Includes at least one high-quality image

  • Uses clear, accurate language

The more complete and specific your listing is, the better it performs on Matium. Our matchmaking system uses your listing details - especially the material specs - to recommend it to buyers searching for exactly what you offer. In short, more detail means more visibility with the right buyers.
