Getting Started with the Market

Follow this step-by-step guide to get started with the Matium Market.

The Matium Market is your home for supply and demand. It’s where verified companies can share offers and requests and connect directly with buyers and sellers. As a member of the Matium Network, you can create your own listings and respond to others - all for free.

Let’s get started!

1. Browse the Market

  • Click Market in the top navigation. By default, you'll land on a view of active offers, requests and auctions for all Plastics.

  • Click Browse All for a full view of the Market. Filter to find exactly what you need - by material type, company, or location.

  • Click any listing card to view details like specs, terms, and location.

  • Ready to engage? Click Respond to place a bid.

👉 Responding to a listing starts a private offer - or negotiation - between you and the buyer/seller, so you can work out terms directly.

2. Personalize the Market

  • Create Market Views to narrow the market down to just those materials and locations that matter to you.

  • Subscribe to alerts to be notified as soon as new supply or demand hits the Market that matches one of your views.

3. Create a New Listing

List Demand

  • Click List Demand button on the Market page.

  • Choose the Public Request option share your request with the Network.

  • Link your request to a Core Need - your company’s internal record of what you need to buy.

  • Add details that will be shared with the Network including location, shipping terms, target price, and any documents.

  • Review and Submit - your request is now live!

List Supply

  • Click List Supply button on the Market page.

  • Choose the Public Offer option to share your supply with the Network.

  • Link your offer to a Core Inventory Item - your company's internal record of the lot you're selling.

  • When creating a new inventory item, you’ll also be prompted to create or select a material - this is where you'll define the exact material specifications. Add as much detail as possible here.

  • Add details that will be shared with the Network including name, description, price, shipping terms, and any supporting docs (like a TDS or photos).

  • Review and Submit - your offer is now live!

4. Manage your Listings

  1. You'll be notified when a new bid arrives on one of your listings.

  2. Go to My Activity → Negotiations to find all incoming bids and open negotiations.

  3. Go to My Activity → My Listings to view all of your listings and make any updates.

  4. If a material sells off-platform or is no longer available, be sure to mark the listing as Closed.
