A short summary of concepts in Matium to help you get started:

Matium Network

Matium Network is a place to connect, interact and transact with other companies in the raw materials supply chain.

Directory

Matium's searchable database of verified material and service providers. You must enable your company's public profile to be searchable in the Directory.

Link

A connection between two companies allowing them to do business together on the platform.

Offer

A material lot for sale shared one-to-one with potential buyers. Price, weight and other terms are negotiated on the platform directly between the seller and potential buyer(s).

Request

A material need shared with potential suppliers.

Matium Core

Matium Core is your all-in-one material management platform, allowing you to manage all aspects of your business from customer relationships to procurement to logistics.

Company

A company or individual you buy from, sell to, or utilize for services such as shipping or warehousing.

Material

A standard material, including any and all specifications, you regularly work with, buy or sell.

Spot Material

A one-off material that only exists for a singular use or transaction. Spots can not be re-used in Matium.

Have

A specific material lot for sale by a company other than your own. Haves represent your market supply in Matium.

Inventory

A specific material lot that your company owns. Like haves, they may also be for sale.

Need

A specific material demand from your company or another company. Needs represent your market demand in Matium.

Match

A material, price and location rating between a have, inventory item or network offer and a need. Matches are automatically and intelligently generated to allow you to find your best market opportunities.

Order

A buy, sell or trade transaction between a supplier and receiver for a set of material items.

Shipment

Very simply, the pickup and delivery of materials. A shipment will always fulfill a parent order in Matium.
