Introduction
Public Requests in Matium allow buyers to share a material need including location, material parameters, packaging needs and requested weight with suppliers on the Matium Network.
Requests are shared publicly with everyone on the Matium Network.
Lifecycle of a Request
All Requests in Matium are associated with a Core Need, which allows buyers to track the full weight required and how much weight is remaining.
Requests will remain active until the end date of the RFQ, or if the weight of the Core Need reaches 0.
Responding to Requests
Suppliers have the ability to view the details of a request and respond by sending the buyer a private material offer.
Requests can run in a closed format, where buyers negotiate privately with suppliers on the price and terms of each material offer sent in response to the request.
Alternatively, requests can also run in an open format, where all bidders see the lowest qualified offer price to create a more competitive environment.
