Introduction

Network Offers in Matium allow suppliers to share a material for sale along with terms including the weight, price and shipping terms with buyers on the Matium Network.

Offers can either be shared privately with companies the supplier is linked with or publicly with everyone on the Matium Network.

Private Offers are one-to-one, meaning they are shared with a single company, allowing you to set different terms for different companies. Public Offers will have a single set of terms offered to everyone on the Network.

Lifecycle

When creating new offers in Matium, you will be prompted to identify the material lot first which will have a total available weight associated with it, along with the offered weight, price and shipping terms.

When a buyer places a bid on a Public Offer, it will initiate a private, one-to-one negotiation directly with the supplier. All Private Offers will start as a one-to-one negotiation between the supplier and potential buyer.

Companies can then negotiate weight, price and terms of any offer directly on the platform. An offer is not considered confirmed until the buyer accepts and the seller confirms the terms of the offer.

Once an offer reaches Confirmed status, contact information for both sides of the offer will be shared allowing the companies to finalize logistics including shipping and payment processing.

Offers will expire automatically if 14 days have passed since the last action was taken.

Once the total available weight for a material lot has been reached, meaning offers have been confirmed for the full amount, any outstanding offers will be automatically cancelled.

Integration with Matium Core

For users of the Matium Core platform, you will be prompted to share either a third-party have or an inventory item when creating a new network offer. This will allow you to centrally manage all offers for a material lot from the detail page of the have or inventory item.

Once an offer is confirmed, an order will automatically be created in Core for you and the weight of the order will be deducted from the weight of the have or inventory item. In this way, the remaining weight of the have or inventory item will always reflect how much of the lot is still available.

Note that Core haves and inventory items, along with orders, are internal to your company only. Creating a network offer with a company you are linked to will not give that company access to your Core data. Below is the only information that will be shared with the company receiving an offer:

  • Material name, description and image

  • Material properties including grade, form, color, etc.

  • Packaging

  • Location of the item only if the terms of the offer are set to Picked Up

  • Weight, price and shipping terms
