Introduction
Network Matches help you uncover your best buy and sell opportunities by automatically and intelligently matching your internal material data with listings on the Matium Network. Matches are based on:
Your company’s private Core Haves and Needs
Public listings across the Network
Private offers sent directly to your company
Follow these simple steps to start matching today!
Only companies subscribed to Matium Core can access Network Matches. To update your subscription status, Administrators can visit the Billing area under Administration in the left sidebar.
Step 1: Track Your Core Haves and Needs
Core is your company’s internal workspace - and the foundation for generating matches. Use it to track what you have to sell and what you need to buy. These Core items are completely private to your company.
Core Haves (What You’re Selling)
A Have in Matium is a material lot for sale. If your company owns the material, it’s called an Inventory Item. To create a Have:
Go to Create New (+) and select Have or Inventory.
Choose an existing material or create a new one.
Fill in details like location, packaging, weight, price, etc.
Core Needs (What You’re Buying)
A Need in Matium defines the material you're looking for, including specs, required weight, and location. To create a Need:
Go to Create New (+) and select Need.
Enter the location and material type.
Include all acceptable specs (grade, form, color, etc.)
Leave fields blank if you’re open on certain attributes.
Step 2: Let the Match-Making Begin
Once your Haves and Needs are created, the system will automatically generate matches against:
Network-wide supply and demand listings.
Private offers sent directly to your company.
When a match is found, the owner of the Core Have or Need will get a notification and email.
You can also browse all matches anytime under Network > Matches:
Select Buy Opportunities to look at Network Offers that match your Core Needs.
Select Sell Opportunities to view Network Requests that match your Core Haves.
Rank the matches based on what matters most to you - overall rating, distance, profit margin, or how closely material specs line up.
Step 3: Evaluating a Match
Each match includes an overall rating, plus breakdowns for:
Alignment of material specs
Distance (based on pickup & delivery locations)
Estimated FTL shipment profitability
This helps you quickly assess how strong the opportunity is.
Step 4: Moving Forward
Ready to move forward with a match?
Click Respond to Offer (for buying) or Respond to Request (for selling).
Review the full listing details.
Submit a bid directly to the supplier or submit a material offer directly to the buyer and then negotiate price and terms - all on the Matium platform.
