Getting Started with the Network

Follow this step-by-step guide to get started with the Matium Network.

Updated over a week ago

The Matium Network is an invite-only directory of material and service providers. It allows you to connect with your existing contacts as well as find new distributors, recyclers, warehousers and more.

To get the most out of Matium, follow these steps to create your company's public profile and link up with others on the Network. Keep in mind that the directory is ranked based on number of links, so the more companies you connect with, the more your company will stand out to others!

1. Enable your company's public profile

Now that you are a member, make sure that your company's public profile is enabled so that other companies can find and connect with you.

Note: You must have Admin permissions in order to access your company's public profile. Reach out to your company's tenant administrator for questions about permissions.

Click on Administration in the left sidebar and then Public Profile to view your company's public profile.

If the Enabled toggle is On, you're company profile is already public and you're all set!

If the Enabled toggle is Off, take a few minutes to add all the information needed to help others know exactly what you do:

  • Upload your company logo. Click on the image to the left of your company name to upload.

  • Update your company profile. Click the Edit button to provide basic information including the high-level services and materials your company provides and your website.

  • Provide company contacts so others will know how to reach you. Click the Add button to add accounting, purchasing, sales and shipping contacts.

  • Provide locations for your company. Click the Locations tab and then the Add button. Include your company headquarters along with any other facilities you use for servicing, shipping, remittance, etc.

Once your company profile is complete, simply set the Enabled toggle to On and you will be visible on the Matium Network.

2. Add your team

Invite as many people as you want from your company to join you on Matium.

Simply click on Administration in the left sidebar, then the Add User button. The new user will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to verify their email, set their password and join you on Matium.

3. Build out your private network

Links are the building blocks in Matium that allow you to create your own private network for conducting transactions on the platform. Links exist between two companies and must be approved by both sides before they will be established.

Note: While anyone on the Network can view your company profile, you can only send and receive material offers with those companies that you are linked with.

Click Directory in the left sidebar to browse the Matium Network. Utilize the filters and map view to find companies you do business with today or to identify new companies you want to bring into your network.

Click the Link button on a company card to request to link with that company. You will be prompted to specify a designated representative from your company for the link. When another company requests to link to you, you will be able to approve or reject the request from the Link Requests tab.

Click the Company Links tab to view your company's private network on Matium. Click the Personal Links tab to view your own personal links, or links where you are listed as the designated representative.

If a company you work with today is not a part of the Network, click here to invite them to join you on Matium.

4. Share material offers

Once you are linked to others on the Network, you can send and receive material offers.

Click Offers in the left sidebar to view offers you have sent or received.

To share a new material offer with one or more companies, click the New Offer button. Specify the material lot that is available, one or more links to share with and then specify the individual weight, price and terms to be shared with each link. Note that each offer is one-to-one, meaning it is shared with a single company, allowing you to set different terms for different companies.

Once an offer is sent or received, you'll be able to negotiate directly on the platform to settle weight, price and terms with potential buyers.

There's a lot more to explore in the Network. Be sure to try out the free, instant freight quotes, search the directory the next time you need a referral or even build out technical data sheets for your materials. Reach out with any questions!
